Should I Get My MBA?

Yes.

Ok I will expand on that! There are all sorts of excellent reasons for taking an MBA, but as far as I am concerned the best one is the networking opportunities.

Make an effort to get to know your fellow students. People taking an MBA tend to be highly motivated future leaders in business and industry, getting to know them can seriously help your career. Remember to stay in touch after graduation too!

I know of a friend who was about to be made redundant, he let his contacts know by e-mail and before the week was out he had a firm job offer from a company that wasn't advertising a vacancy. The personal recommendation from one of the friends he formed at business school was enough to get him an interview.

Cultivate the tutors as well, after all they will know even more students – and former students. I know more than one tutor who is regularly rung and asked i they can recommend any promising students for a particular position. Indeed I have been the recipient of an email from a company who got my name from an MBA tutor.

So in answer to the question should I get my MBA, my answer tends to be an emphatic “yes”.
