The Best Schools For An MBA

What are the best schools for MBA? This is not as easy a question to answer as it used to be. I would say that there are six international institutions that will appear in most “best” lists – (in no particular order)

• Harvard
• Oxford
• Stanford
• Wharton
• Henley
• Chicago

But one of these may not be the best choice for you. MBA is becoming a very generic term, it used to describe a specific degree course – now it describes many of them.

Every school, and every course will appear in a “best” list of some description, given the number of publications, institutions and web sites that publish a list!

The questions should be “What are the best schools for MBA in the speciality that I want to take”. The six schools I mentioned earlier may not even do the course you want to take. There is also the question of what you intend to do with your MBA when you have it. If you want to attain top management in an international company then going abroad to do an MBA may be better than staying at home. There is also the question of funding – your employer may pay for an MBA if you do it locally.
